We offer Nitrous Oxide sedation at our office to help alleviate any anxieties you may have about giving us a visit!
Nitrous oxide is also known as "laughing gas"
It is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose. While it does not put you to sleep, it helps you feel relaxed and comfortable during certain procedures. It also reduces your pain threshold, so you don't feel things as strongly as you normally would.
What to expect:
Within a few short minutes of breathing in this gas, you start feeling the effects of Nitrous Oxide. You may feel light-headed and a tingling in your arms and legs.
Ultimately, you should feel calm and comfortable, and never have to fear visiting your dentist. The effects of Nitrous Oxide wear off soon after the mask is removed.
